The contents within, are to be held as the founding principles of the Valiant Crusaders. We were united as one guild, but each member had to choose a certain role to play. The three described here were the backbone for the guild. Each and every member knowing their role is what has kept and keeps the guild thriving to this day. As with all guilds we have grown with time and had to evolve. We have evolved for the better as time went on. We no longer have our members choose a specific order to uphold. As we have grown, we realized that each and every member was much more then their order. We have seen our family develop into something so much better then ever anticipated. We have become the orders themselves. Now not only do we excel in one order but we have become all the orders and yet still remain individuals. We foresee the growth of our family to be even more then we could ever imagine. With life goes the simple assessment that the strength of a family is the foundation upon which it was built. Our charter shall never change as it contains the very principles that we have thrived by, and to change them would be to suggest that we as a guild must change from the very principles that we were founded upon. So, in June 2005 we presented ourselves with a renewing of these principles. The original charter in it's original form still resides here but you'll find that the text is exactly the same.
UNITED IN VISION, VIRTUE, AND VALOR . . . We the Brothers and Sisters of the Order of the Valiant believe that these ideals are the foundation upon which every life is built. We vow to embody these ideals in mind, in body, and in spirit. Our VISION . . . a Norrath united by Justice and Just Cause, where the strength of the few protect the lives of the many . . . Our VIRTUE . . . a desire to live our lives as an example to those around us, to aid without compensation or regret, to sacrifice ourselves for the greater good without thought or hesitation, and to plant the seeds of hope and serenity where ever we may travel . . . Our VALOR . . . to walk the high road and not to balk or shy from the burdens we chose to bear, and to combat tyranny, oppression greed, and hate in all its many forms . . . ~ Auryn Autumnfall
About our Guild
Our guild, The Valiant Crusaders, was originally formed on the Cazic Thule game server in November of 1999. The original purpose of the guild was to bring together a small group of casual gamers who discovered each other through their adventures in Norrath. We believe in upholding the ideals aforementioned in our Charter and being helpful and polite to the peoples of Norrath. We are a relatively small- to medium-sized guild. The characters played by the members of the Valiant Crusaders range from levels one through 70, with the majority of main characters in the 60-70 level range. While our guild occasionally participates in raids in alliance with other guilds, our guild is by no means an ‘uber-guild’, nor are we power gamers. We are casual gamers who play EverQuest when real life gives us the opportunity to relax a bit and enjoy some leisure time. We ask that our members behave in a polite and respectful way towards others and in general. Our guild encourages its members to engage in role-playing to any extent, but it is not a requirement. If you would like to know more about our guild, please feel free to speak with any of our guild members you may happen to see in the realm of Norrath. Safe journeys and good hunting!
The Order of Valor
Valiant Crusaders who fall under the jurisdiction of the Order of Valor are given a heavy burden to bear. We are the front line of defense in every group. We are the steel and sinew who throw themselves into the thick of the fray and with righteous fury strive to defeat evil in all its many forms. . Responsibilities: Our duty to our group is to lead and organize, to brook no tolerance for dissention and despair, and to ensure that all whom we protect live to see a day where peace reigns throughout all of Norrath. If necessary to insure the safety of our group, we are the first to call a retreat but we are the last to disengage from battle as we have the best chance to survive with demons on our heels. Terror may fill your heart as countless foes descend upon you, but with love, honor, and valor you will overcome.
The Order of Virtue
The order of virtue is the bind that unites the three branches into one body. Valor is the guild's strength and Vision is the guild's knowledge, we of the Order of Virtue, are the guild's soul. We bind the three forces of the soul--the Heavens (clerics), the Earth (druids), and the Spirit (shamans) We are the giver of wisdom and the teachers of one's self. We are the calm voice of reason and the bringers of balance. Responsibilities: Render aid to any guild member when called on, if possible. Render aid to anyone that calls upon you without reservation, if possible. If the caller's nature and/or actions is suspect then it is to your discretion to answer their calls. Never offer to sell heals and/or poison/disease/blindness cures. Should the receiver of said aid offers to donate/give you funds, that is up to your discretion to accept. (binds, buffs, SoW, and other spells of this nature are not considered healing aids and not subject to this guideline.)
The Order of Vision
Wisdom dictates that, "with great power comes great responsibility". As students of all things Arcane we must always strive to make ourselves familiar with of all Norrath's Mysteries. In order to defend those most in need we must never stop learning. It is through knowledge that we gain power and the skill necessary to keep the Peoples of Norrath safe from the forces of the Dark. To understand our own power, however, is not enough--we must also know the powers of those who would stand against us. In knowing the strengths of our enemies we also learn their weaknesses. Through observation, study, and our Vision we can help to keep Norrath safe. With our skills and magic, we hold the ability to bend the will of nature and twist the very structures of reality. Our efforts are best spent in using our wondrous powers to aid those in need and in the discovery of the Unknown. . Responsibilities: Never ignore a cry for help. Let not your heart be led by greed--rather, display generosity whenever able. Freely discuss your knowledge with the open-minded. Share our Vision with any who may embody our Valiant Ideals. And most importantly: Seek, observe, and learn at every given opportunity.
